“Fashion has never really
been only about clothes.
It is about identity”.

Muhammad Fawad Noori

For more than two decades, I have worked in global fashion industry, designing, teaching, researching and observing how deeply clothing influences the way we see ourselves and how others see us.

Over the years, one thing has become increasingly clear to me: fashion has never really been only about clothes. It is about identity; confidence, culture, personality, lifestyle and the way we choose to present ourselves to the world.

And now, artificial intelligence is opening an entirely new conversation around that identity.

FROM “WHAT IS TRENDING?” TO “WHAT IS RIGHT FOR ME?”

We live in a world where algorithms already influence what we watch, listen to, buy and discover. Yet when it comes to our appearance, food choices and individual style, much of the advice we receive remains generic.

This is where F3 caught my attention. Launching in Pakistan, F3 is an AI-powered lifestyle intelligence platform built around three interconnected dimensions of human identity. Its philosophy is simple: understand the individual first, then personalize the experience.

THE THREE DIMENSIONS OF ONE IDENTITY

At first, Face, Food and Fashion may sound like three different worlds. In reality, they are deeply connected. Our face is an important part of our visual identity. What we eat influences lifestyle and wellbeing. What we wear communicates personality, culture and confidence.

F3 brings these dimensions into one digital experience. Users provide one clear photograph and answer 13 lifestyle questions. According to F3, the process takes approximately three minutes and generates a personalized F3 type with lifestyle guidance, tell your personal attributes, AI-generated looks, makeovers, and an AI coach designed to remember the user.

TECHNOLOGY SHOULD UNDERSTAND THE INDIVIDUAL: A PERSONAL PERSPECTIVE

As a fashion professional, I have always believed that good design begins with understanding people. A designer cannot create meaningful work simply by copying what is popular. We have to understand the person wearing it, their lifestyle, culture, personality, aspirations and environment.

AI has the potential to make this understanding more intelligent and more personalized. F3’s fashion proposition moves in this direction by focusing on personal style rather than simply reproducing trends.

For me, this is an important shift. The future of fashion should not simply be about making people follow trends faster. It should be about helping people express themselves better.

WHY THIS MATTERS TO PAKISTAN?

For me, F3 is particularly interesting because it is emerging from Pakistan. Our country has an extraordinary cultural and creative identity, while our young generation is increasingly digital, globally connected and comfortable experimenting with technology.

The meeting point between heritage and technology has enormous potential. Pakistan should not only be a consumer of global AI technologies. We should also become a place where AI is applied to our own cultural, creative and social contexts

THE BIGGER IDEA

F3 is interesting not simply because it uses AI, but because it connects appearance, lifestyle and personal style into one conversation.

“The future of fashion should not simply be about making people follow trends faster. It should be about helping people express themselves better.”

INNOVATION MUST COME WITH RESPONSIBILITY

When technology begins working with something as personal as our face and identity, privacy, consent, transparency, bias and responsible AI become essential. F3 states that uploaded images have their EXIF data stripped and are not stored without user consent, and it identifies its guidance as lifestyle-focused rather than diagnostic.

The more personal AI becomes, the more responsible it must become. We should not be asking only, “What can AI do?” We should also be asking, “What should AI do and how should it do it responsibly?”

THE FUTURE IS BECOMING PERSONAL

I believe we are moving towards a new generation of technology, one that is less about generic information and more about individual intelligence. F3 represents an interesting step in that direction.

Its ambition is not simply to suggest an outfit, analyze a photograph or recommend food. Its larger proposition is to bring different aspects of everyday identity together and translate them into personalized guidance.

As a fashion designer and our F3 team in which we have Psychologist, Computer scientist along with nutritionist.  We find this exciting because it challenges us to rethink the role of fashion itself. Perhaps the future of fashion will not be about creating more trends. Perhaps it will be about creating more meaningful connections between people and what they choose to wear, eat and become.

And perhaps the most powerful role of AI is not to tell us who we should be. It is to help us understand who we already are.
